Flu bug

I had big plans for today and really thought I was going to get a lot done. Well my body had other plans for me. I had to miss a meeting at 1 and cancel my hair appointment tonight because I have the flu. Awesome. I hope I am feeling better tomorrow because I have to go to school. 

I was able to at least accomplish some homework and take my math test but barely passed it because I was rushing through it since I felt like crap. I hate being sick its the absolute worse. I better get to bed so I can let my body rest and heal. 

So heres to today...to staying home sick, to passing pretests, to getting better and to sleep. Thankful for today. 

Tornado Tuesday

Today was a whirlwind. From the moment I woke up my day was go go go. Last night my sister was texting me worried about my younger brother because they hadn't heard from him. When I woke up this morning there were more texts saying he still hadn't touched base with them and they were worried. We called his school and found out he wasn't there and that only made it worse. After checking hospitals and juvenile detention centers we finally got a hold of one of his friends. Luckily he knew his whereabouts and I was able to pick him up just before class. 

I was so thankful that my classes were pretty laid back today for the most part but I was super tired by my 3rd class and hadn't had anything to eat. My sweet husband brought me lunch since I didn't have my wallet but it made me even more tired. It took every ounce of strength I had to keep my eyes open in my nutrition class. When I got home I decided I needed to do something active to keep me awake and we took the pups to the park. They had a blast. 

My math class is getting even harder which is scary but I am still so grateful I am at ology because otherwise there is no way I would pass. Rick was here hanging with Alan when I got home from class so it was fun to visit with him. I think tonight was the first night he saw my dogs be mellow and normal because they were so tired from playing hard at the park. The best news of the day is that Alan found a site for me to watch season 4 of Vampire Diaries (the quality is poor) and I am so glad I have a way to watch it. So I am off to watch that and not sleep. 

So heres to today...to Lin being ok, to surviving school, to a great math teacher, to an amazing husband and to reuniting with my vampires. Thankful for today.

Math Midterm

I studied all day for my math midterm and I was confident that no matter how much I studied I was destined to fail it. I needed a 50% to pass and still be able to pass the class and somehow a miracle happened! After I took the test they don't give you the score right then you have to wait and check it online 15 minutes so my drive home was miserable. When I checked it though its like all my stress lifted and I got a C! Usually I wouldn't be too stoked on a C but in this case I feel like I got an A+. This class is like learning a foreign language. 

After the midterm I got to come home and finish the end of Vampire Diares season 3 before my hubby got home. I tried to find the 4th season online because on Hulu Plus it starts on episode 10 then skips 11 and goes up to 15. Random! If anyone knows where I can watch them I have tried everything and really want to get caught up. 

When Alan got home he took me to Tucano's for a date as promised if I passed my midterm. It was incredibly delicious as always and we were smart this time and knew when to stop so we got to get some desserts afterwards. When we got home we were greeted by Carter and Marissa and shortly after Nicole and Adalie. That little girl is so tough! Nicole fell with her down the stairs a few days ago and broke her leg and she was still smiling and happy. 

Kayli and Rick got there a bit later and then it was time for Bachelor! I lost all respect for AshLee and that's all I will say about the women tell all. I can't wait for next week. It was so nice to see everyone last night and have a social life. I miss all my friends and if you are reading this then that means I miss you. I can't wait for this semester to be over and be able to breathe! 

So heres to today...to passing my math test, to finishing season 3 of VD, to date night at Tucanos and to a fun night with friends. Thankful for today.   

My calling is better than yours

I love my calling! Please don't ever let me get released. I am truly obsessed with the darling kidlets in my primary class. Every week I can't wait till Sunday to see their smiling faces and it is only because they are so dang cute that I manage to get myself out of bed at 8 am. Parenting is going to be a challenge for me as far as early mornings go but I will cherish these moments for now. 

After church today Bryson and I jammed out to some primary songs since he got a CD from the presidency and then it was nap time. I don't know how long I slept but it didn't feel like long enough but Bryson was sawing logs. I swear he must of slept for several hours. We had to wake him up to head over to Nana and Papas for dinner. We weren't there for too long and had to turn around and head back home. I tried to look at my math for a minute but that wasn't happening so instead we snuggled up to some shows and played some games with Bryson. My sister and mom are sick so we get him for another night and couldn't be more pleased. 

We had so much fun with him today and to keep up being a bad aunt we are still having fun with him right now. I suppose I better get him to bed but I don't want to miss a single moment with this sweet boy. 

So heres to today...to hopefully never getting released, to numb lap after rotating our primary kids on it all afternoon, to quality time with my nephew and to hopefully passing my math midterm tomorrow. Thankful for today.  

Jack Reacher

The thing I hate about school is homework. I really don't feel it shows what knowledge you actually are retaining and it takes up so much time. I swear no matter how many hours I spend there is more to be done. Today was a day I wasted on said homework. I did it till my brain could no longer function and then decided to take a break to have an actual life.

I have missed Kayli so much since school consumes both our lives. Tonight we got to double with her and Rick and get some desserts at Little Gloria and then go see Jack Reacher. I got so many dirty looks due to the fact that we had our nephew with us. We are apparently horrible people and particularly bad aunt and uncle. 

I figured since we were already awful we would let Bryson stay up with us for a while and gave him a bath and let him help organize my closet. He enjoys cleaning my house so who am I to stop him. Tomorrow is church so I will have to remember to ask for forgiveness for being a slave driving aunt that forces her nephew to perform child labor and watch PG 13 material movies. 

So here's to today...to making a dent on my heap of homework, to finally seeing my sweet Kayli, to double dates, to being a role model you shouldn't model for the night and to my nephew loving me despite my many shortcomings. Thankful for today!

Neverland

Today I was lucky enough to go to lunch with my sweet friend Ashley who I haven't seen in way too long. It was so nice to spend some time with her and catch up. After lunch it was so warm and beautiful I decided to do some thing in the yard and let the pups follow along to soak up the sun.

With school and vacation and life my house has been severely neglected. I did my best to accomplish some things around the house. I didn't get terribly far unfortunately. Havoc has been having a hard time with his nails lately so we took him in to the groomer and got them tried today. I think it is going to help him so much.

After the chores and errands we got the opportunity to watch my cute nieces in the play Peter Pan! They seriously were so adorable. They did such a great job. We went to pizza pie cafe afterwards to celebrate. I must say it was quite tasty. Tomorrow is going to be filled with homework so I folded up about 8 loads of laundry and now it's time for sleep.

So here's to today...to a fun lunch date with the cutest pregnant girl I know, to completing chores, to Peter Pan and my cute nieces being the cutest thing ever, to all you can eat buffets and to finally folding all my laundry! Thankful for today!

Lived through the lesson

This morning I had to go in for my annual exam and it just added to my anxiety I was already experiencing. Shalee (my partner in the lesson) and I still had a lot of coordinating and planning to do but I was stuck in a doctors office. Obviously it wasn't the ideal situation to get a Pap smear and then go teach cute elementary school students a lesson but that's what I did. I am happy to say we lived through the lesson and honestly feel like we did a great job. The kids loved it.

After that was over I was exhausted. I wanted the day to be over and to go back to sleep but it was just beginning. School was a blur and after class Alan had his buddy Rick over to watch the BYU game so after a slice of pizza I slipped into my room. Winding down to a Vampire Diaries marathon was just what I needed at the end of a long day. 

Now it time for me to sleep I have a lunch date with my friend Ashley tomorrow and I haven't seen her in forever I am so excited! 

So here's to today...to a fun dance lesson that I am happy to be finished with, to getting my annual out of the way, to not passing out when giving blood, to not falling asleep in class and to reuniting with my vamps,werewolves and witches. Thankful for today.
