Lipstick fail

This morning I really got ready. I mean cute clothes and shoes, put makeup on, and did my hair all cute. One thing I maybe should have omitted was my red lipstick but they matched my pants (yes I was able to squeeze my fat butt into my 00's again). I will tell you why I should have chosen to forego the red lipstick a little later.

I woke up this morning 2 hours before my alarm was going to go off to get ready for school because I got a call from New York. With Alan in Jersey it freaked me out that something may have happened to him. I tried to answer but no one responded so I hurried and called Alan. Luckily he was just fine but I did wake him up. I was planning on going right back to sleep but I decided to call and see if the books and stuffed animals I wanted yesterday may have gotten shipped in. UNfortunately they had not but I decided to call one more store and see and LUCKY me they had them in American Fork. I got so excited I hurried and threw on some sweats and got me these beauties:

I have an addiction. Its sad. It was worth every penny because Bryson was playing with them all night it was so cute. What was even cuter is that when his dad said he was going to stay with me tonight that he grabbed his toy sword and said "I'll protect her!". I love that kid soooooo much.

So the lipstick...OK before I start no judgement. I ate a jdawg again tonight for dinner. It sounded so good. So I grabbed on before my last class tonight and hurried and snarfed it down. Anyone that has ever eaten a Jdawg knows that those suckers are huge. So after eating it I got a little sticky but I was late for class so I ran into class and after about a half hour I decided I couldn't take the stickiness so I ran to the bathroom to wash my hands and there was a big line of lipstick on my chin! How embarrassing.

Tomorrow I have an interview at 8:30 am so I need to hit the hay.

So heres to today...to getting the books I wanted, to Alan being safe, to Bryson being my knight in shining armor and to jdawgs. Thankful for today.

Dr. Suess

Today I got to finish my observation at Vineyard Elementary and it is making me crave my own classroom so badly. It also made me consider switching to Special Education. I have absolutely loved working with the students. Another thing I am so grateful for that Jaymi (the teacher I was working with) told me about was where to get great book deals. Check this out:

I got these for $20 today. I am totally going back tomorrow to see if they got new stuff because it was pretty picked through today. Awesome. I am seriously so stoked about it. I need to start building my library for my class now and even if I put off teaching for a while to have kids they will have the most rocking library ever. I love it.

Today was crazy busy. After observation I had to take Havoc to the vet cause he messed up his nail again. It was so sad because the people that came in right before us found out that their pit bull had cancer and would need to be put down. Devastating. After we left the vet I had to go pick up the Camry with my brother and drive it back to my house because we managed to get enough air to stay in the tire to get home and hopefully I can take it into Bronson to have it looked at on Friday or Saturday.

Once I got the car home I had a mound of dishes to do and then finally added another coat of primer and paint to the TV trays. I still need to the bottoms but the tops look awesome. I also scooped half the poop my husband said he was going to that has accumulated for over a month...disgusting! It got dark and cold so I had to stop and put the rest off till tomorrow. I got hungry and ran and grabbed food and the books and stuffed animals and then went and visited with my mom and Bryson for a little. I helped him with his letters and sounds. That kid is so smart.

When I got home I managed to finish my psychology and math homework and now I am waiting for Kayli to come over to keep me company tonight and I can't wait to hit my pillow.

So heres to today...to the sweetest students ever, to bargain books, to healthy dogs, to getting the Camry home safely, to getting closer to finishing the TV trays, to a smart nephew and to friends willing to keep me company while the hubs is away. Thankful for today.

Seconds of Sean

School seemed to really drag today mostly because I am super tired and stayed up waaaay too late watching a movie last night. In my second class I got a call from my brother who is borrowing our Camry saying that the tire was flat and he couldnt change it because the rim was too big. That really stressed me out and kind of set the tone for the rest of my day.

I was really thankful that it happened on a side street and not the freeway and that he wasnt hurt. He ended up coming over cause he needed some help with an essay so we worked on that during my break and then off to math I went. When I got home Kari was here ready to watch the Bachelor so I got to watch a half hour with her and finished the rest by my lonesome. Now its past my bedtime I have observation tomorrow at Vineyard so I have to be up far too early.

So heres to today...to flat tires, to helpin with homework, and to seconds of Sean. Thankful for today.

Girls night and giggles

Today started out much too early for me since I had to drive Alan to the airport at 5:30am. I wish I would have known before that his flight was going to be late by 2:30 hours due to some weird texts and possible bomb threat.

Photo: Someone got some suspicious texts messages from a stranger so..bomb squad, k9 search of all our belongings, and 2.5 hours later we're back on the plane waiting to go. Wahoo!
Once he finally got in the air I was able to take a little cat nap before I got the amazing privilege to meet some people very dear to Kayli. I had so much fun! Afterwards I finished up some homework and then went and saw Red Dawn with Lindsay at the dollar theater. I really like the movie! Made me feel like I take for granted our freedom here in the USA though.

When I got home I was greeted by Nicole and Marissa and Kayli followed shortly behind to watch Sean dump some more crazy girls. I am so addicted to that show. DeeAnn and Kari were sorely missed. We ended up chatting far too late but got a good ab workout from all the giggles. Can't wait for tomorrows episode!

So here's to today...to Alan getting to Jersey safely, to our freedom, to meeting some amazing people, and to girls nights full of giggles. Thankful for today.

Superbowl Sunday

I love Sundays. The only rough part about Sundays is waking up early...especially if I can't sleep the night before. That happened last night. I laid in bed but could not sleep and felt like I didn't sleep deeply the entire night. I woke up exhausted. Today was one of those mornings where I am thankful for a calling because I wouldn't have been able to otherwise drag myself out of bed. But I did for these cuties:

I love those little ones so much. Our calling is so fun. We are sooo unbelievably lucky to work with the primary in our ward. I did feel super bad today because our class was in charge of the exercises in sharing time and the girl that was assigned to do the opening prayer starting bawling because she didn't want to do it and her mom took her out and then she didn't come to class. I hope we didn't traumatize her. I tried calling her to see if she was OK but I haven't heard back. Fingers crossed!

As everyone is well aware today was Superbowl Sunday so after church we watched some great TV (Snooki and Jwoww, Catfish and Buckwild) and then watched the Superbowl. I thought Beyonces performance was somewhat disappointing. She hardly sang but her dancing was amazing. I hope I can do that ever but especially after having a baby. What a close game. Poor niners.

I ended up napping through half of the game and then after the game took Bryson to my moms. Now I need to go spend some quality time with my hubby before he leaves me for a week! :( Anyone reading this I need hang out buddies super bad. I am sad that he is leaving me and a week without a husband is a long time. Hopefully it goes by super fast.

So here's to today...to the worlds best calling, to cute kidlets, to Superbowl festivities, to trashy TV, and to my husband making sacrifices for our family. Thankful for today.

BBQ Bash

Today was too short but fun. When I woke up I got some of my homework done then showered and immediately after it was back to homework then making dinner then back to homework. I just finished all my homework minus a bonus assignment because I ran out of time.

I didn't even get a chance to eat anything outside of dinner so I am so glad that it was so dang delicious. I have been craving a hearty steak and potato dinner and Alan and I love the beef tenderloins from Winco. They only sell them by the slab and it was just Alan, Marissa and myself. We knew we wouldn't be able to eat all the meat and it would likely go to waste so when my brother called about watching a movie we invited him and his friend Rodney over to help us eat. Shortly after I got a text from Dee asking what our dinner plans were so they joined in on the party and last minute Nicole stopped by and we roped her in to eating with us too. It was so fun to have everyone here.

Again I just find myself so grateful that I am surrounded by so many amazing people in my life and feel so fortunate to have the friends and family that I do. I am also grateful for the cute shoes my husband bought me yesterday.

So here's to today...to my mounds of homework, to the best meal I have had in a month, to the best company I could ask for, to friends, to family, and to cute shoes of course. Thankful for today.

IT'S BEEN A MONTH!!!

I am shocked that I was able to keep it up for a month...now just 11 more to go. I feel bad for anyone that reads it cause my posts are super boring but that is the life of a college student (at least a married one).

I feel a lot better today. I made myself a delicious breakfast that I have been craving for a few weeks...

Pancakes with strawberries and homemade whipped cream...it was divine. After taking it easy for a bit Alan wanted me to go run some errands with him and guess what??? He took me shopping! He did some too but seriously he spoiled the crap out of me. Look at all this stuff...

He got some stuff too but my stuff was awesome! Tonight we got to FINALLY hang out with Nicole and Casey. Nicole has been really sick so they came over to watch a movie BUT we got to chatting and ended up forgoing the movie. We missed them.

So here's to today...to pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, to a spur of the moment shopping spree, to a lunch date at CPK, and to finally reuniting with family for a fun filled evening. Thankful for today.
